JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacist at Anclote Pharmacy is a clinically sharp, patient-centered practitioner who owns the full scope of an independent community pharmacy: accurate dispensing, compounding, medication therapy management, immunizations, and the kind of personal counseling that makes every patient feel known. This pharmacist catches what others miss, recommends the supportive care that makes each treatment work better, and builds lasting relationships with the Tarpon Springs families Anclote serves.

ABOUT ANCLOTE PHARMACY

Anclote Pharmacy is a family owned and independently operated community pharmacy that has served Tarpon Springs, Florida since 2008, built on the belief that a pharmacy should know its patients by name. The pharmacy offers prescription fulfillment, local delivery, multi-dose packaging, medication synchronization, medication therapy management, immunizations, compounding for human and veterinary patients, medical equipment, long-term care support, medical weight loss, peptide therapy, and telehealth coordination. Beyond dispensing, Anclote pharmacists guide patients toward the supportive care that reduces side effects and improves outcomes. Because Anclote is independent, decisions are made in the building by the people who know the patients, which gives pharmacists real clinical autonomy.

Mission: We help our community live healthier lives through personalized pharmacy services, innovative clinical solutions and exceptional patient care.

Vision: To become Tarpon Springs' most trusted and innovative community pharmacy, building a lasting legacy of better health for our patients, our team and our community.

Core Values: Compassion, Reliability, Communication, and Accountability.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Every prescription leaves the counter accurate and safe, with interactions, contraindications, and dosing issues caught and resolved before they reach the patient.
  • Patients trust this pharmacist by name, follow through on their regimens, and act on recommendations for supportive care that prevents side effects and nutrient depletion.
  • Clinical services such as MTM, immunizations, compounding, and medication synchronization grow under this pharmacist's ownership, and the pharmacy stays fully compliant with every audit and inspection.

OBJECTIVES

  • Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions accurately, completing drug utilization review for interactions, contraindications, allergies, and dosing on every fill.
  • Counsel patients in plain language on how to take their medications, what to expect, and when to call.
  • Recommend supportive over-the-counter products and supplements that complement prescriptions, such as probiotics alongside antibiotics, to reduce side effects and improve outcomes.
  • Prepare human and veterinary compounded medications in line with USP standards and Florida Board of Pharmacy rules.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication therapy management sessions that identify problems and optimize therapy, not just review a medication list.
  • Administer immunizations and maintain accurate vaccine documentation and reporting.
  • Oversee multi-dose packaging and medication synchronization for patients, including long-term care support.
  • Coordinate with prescribers, including telehealth providers, to resolve clinical questions and close the loop on every intervention.
  • Support medical weight loss, peptide therapy, and Medicare guidance services as they grow.
  • Maintain full compliance with HIPAA, DEA controlled substance requirements, and Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations, including recordkeeping and documentation.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to keep the workflow accurate and patient-focused.

COMPETENCIES

  • Clinical judgment: Makes sound, patient-safe decisions and holds the line on safety under time pressure.
  • Patient communication: Explains complex medication information clearly and calmly, and makes confident recommendations patients act on.
  • Attention to detail: Accurate in dispensing, compounding, and documentation, every time.
  • Compliance ownership: Knows and follows the rules without shortcuts.
  • Relationship building: Remembers patient histories, follows up when it matters, and works well with prescribers and the pharmacy team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required; a BS in Pharmacy with equivalent clinical experience will be considered.
  • Active Florida pharmacist license in good standing, with no restrictions, required.
  • Immunization certification required, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Hands-on compounding experience (human and/or veterinary) and working knowledge of USP compounding standards strongly preferred.
  • Community or independent pharmacy experience and MTM experience preferred; Florida Consultant Pharmacist license a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work on-site at 1933 N Pinellas Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform precise manual work for compounding and immunizations while wearing required protective equipment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base salary: $110,000 + up 20% monthly incentive bonus
  • Schedule: Full-time, on-site.
  • Benefits: PTO
  • Autonomy: Practice with real clinical latitude in an independent pharmacy, without regional or corporate policy deciding how you care for patients.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY

As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, Anclote Pharmacy recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business.
