Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Holding Area provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. This role encompasses pre-procedure preparation, post-procedure recovery, and Phase I/II PACU-level care for patients with various cardiac conditions. The nurse performs patient assessments, education, procedural support, hemodynamic monitoring, and moderate sedation recovery in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment focused on excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cath Lab and EP Lab settings.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification.
• Experience in CVICU or cardiac care.
• Telemetry monitoring skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Recent experience specifically in Cath Lab and EP Lab preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system within the specialty area.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary cardiac procedural environment.
• Experience with moderate sedation recovery and hemodynamic monitoring is critical.
• Work involves care of patients with coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and heart failure.

Scheduling:

• 40 hours per week on a straight night shift schedule.
• Four 10-hour shifts per week.
• Occasional weekend shifts as needed by the unit.
